In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly causing the death of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. According to officials, the woman, identified as Ramvati Devi, intervened to protect her son, Bijendra Kumar, during an argument with the accused, Majid, who resides in the same neighborhood. Majid allegedly pushed Ramvati, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. Abhishek Srivastava, the ACP of Kavi Nagar, explained that the incident occurred when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver under the influence of alcohol, was questioned by Bijendra for sitting outside their residence at 12:30 am on Sunday. Ramvati attempted to calm the situation but ended up being pushed by Majid, resulting in severe injuries that led to her death. An FIR has been filed against Majid under relevant sections of the law, and he has been remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court.
